IR sensors are better

IR sensors are much better than UV. Ultrasonic sensors consume a lot of power and it will be difficult to measure short distances which is generally the case in robotic competitions. You can use TSOP and GP2D12 sensors. GP2D12 sensor can be used in 10 to 80cm range.

I have used LM324 IR

I have used LM324 IR sensors.. these are easy to build and offers a range of about 5-10cms.

The snapshot of my IR sensors:-

LM324 is not sensor, it is a

LM324 is not sensor, it is a Quad Opamp and your infrared sensors will be affected by  light which will not be the case in TSOP based sensors

I mean to say LM324 based IR

I mean to say LM324 based IR sensors. Of course its a quad OPamp, i have maentioned it. The effect of light is redused to a great exent by just applying tube covering of black colour on to the receiver.

Yes i know how to shield the

Yes i know how to shield the side of the infrared receiver, and i did not see you mentioning the quad opamp :P, and i did visit your website. Good work. Try to join chat as well when you get online

Well if you can run your lcd

Well if you can run your lcd on simulator and delays have been provided ,then it is a hardware problem. Is your lcd new and have you tested it with some other code? I had faced a similar problem, pondered over it for quite some time and aftr trying evrything, found out loose connections to be the culprit
