can any one guide me which battery to use for my line follower having 12V dc motors
why dont u use battery eliminator?
i guess combo of 9V commonly available cell wud be sufficient.. but do check its current and power rating..

can't you see my message in the chat room of this site. Otherwise join me at Gtalk with my IM heloitsadi
hey nileshrockfire,
it is not that costly.. what r u making?
u mean c programming? and yes u can make ur own programmer..
hi.......
i m begainer in programing to the microcontroller..........
i m making a line follower.......which is given on this site.......
i have done c language........but not aware to use it with mc.........
i dont know how to use the keil software.......and the whole process of programing and how to load programe in mc.......
plz help me in this.......
and plz tell me how can i make my own mc programmer board?
Note:- This post has been edited by nileshrockfire at Thu, 07/30/2009 - 15:54.
Aditya you are the wonderful example of a lazy person, who wants everything to be spoon fed. I can understand if a person is in remote location and cannot find electronics components. You are just plain lazy.
Nilesh, Please try to google for the programmers. You will find many DIY programmer for the microcontroller you are using.
Best of luck for your endeavours
please tell ,what should be the current rating of the 9Vbattery i should use for my line follower .it has 7805 regulator, and 12V motors
If you are going to use the small 9v radio batteries, they will drain out pretty quick. Try getting some pack of NICD or NIMH batteries or. Anything near 1000mah will be more than sufficient for long run and testing. If your motors are small dc motor with gears then they will run with these. What is the rpm ??
hi.........can anybody tell me that can i use 89c51 microcontroller insted of 89s52 mincrocontroler?and plz tell me y?
then what will be the chang in the program?
plz reply me sooon................
Ya you can use .. these two only differ in their memory capacity, else everything is same, in program you have to just change the header file and make it for 89C52 .. rest everything remains as it is..
Robotics INDIA
can i use simple dc motors insted of servo motors?
and can i make the programer at home?
Servo motors can never be used in Line follower, you have to use geared DC motors.
If you wan't to design programmer at home use 89S52 microcontroller, you can easily design is system programmer for it, its simple and their is no change in the circuit nor in the code (except header file).
can anyone plz specify d cost f a uc dat may be used n d line follower!!!
was s d difference b/w servo motors n dc motors?....how s servo motors more advantageous dan dc motors?
you can use AT89S52 microcontroller its available for Rs 35/- in the market.
is there any need of pull-up resister at the output side of the microcontroller?
and hoe can we check that all the connection with the microcontroller is right?
Nilesh you can add external pull up resistors. Most of the Microcontrollers possess weak internal pull up resistor except if stated in the datasheet. PORT 0 of 8051 does not possess internal pull up resistors. How can you check for connections is by making use of continuity testers and thoroughly checking your circuit design
hey any1 pls tell me any shop in delhi(lajpat rai market) from where i can buy AT89S52 programmer (not an ISP, I want usb or serial port programmer) and its price also....
Hi robofreak,
There is a list of shops given in this thread. It is the 4th post from the top. Shops in Lajpat Rai market have also been mentioned. Did you check it out?
Also I have replied to your line follower doubt.
Hi shashwat,
yes i have gone through the list but nowhere is mentioned that any of these shops also deal in microcontroller programmer. In fact I have been to some shops in LRM like everest and some others who said that they dont have one for 89S52 thats why i asked here so that in case any one has bought from LRM then I may come to knw abt tht shop....
Hi robofreak,
I know a shop near Rohini, Delhi. Its name is Aun PLC Institute. If you are interested in buying form there let me know i ll give you the contact number. The programmer will cost you approx Rs 3500/-. Personally i ll recommend you to buy it online, it ll be much cheaper. I can give you the the links of some good websites.
HI shashwat,
Yes I have heard the name of that shop someone told me about it. Even I went for that few months ago but could not find the shop. Someone told me its in Avantika Chowk Market in rohini but I was not able to find it. Can you please give me the address of that shop or tell me its location....
Note:- This post has been edited by robofreak at Fri, 01/08/2010 - 10:56.
Yup it is near Avantika Chowk in Rohini. Here is the contact number - 9312256415.
thnx shashwat, i found the address of that shop through the number you gave.......n ya i m nt gonna buy the programmer frm there....Rs.3500 for an 89S52 programmer is too much... i already have one frm sunrom technologies for abt rs.2000 but it has stopped working......i have heard from someone that plc also burns the program on mcu thats why i was asking for address.....anyways thnx for ur help
what hardware is needed for burning at89s52 ???
can i use nxp p89v51rd2fn instead of at89s52????
Hi kapil,
Check out this link - http://www.sunrom.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=139
hi shashwat...
can i have ur mail id?????
there r some prob in serial comm. thread.....
now m using nothing becoz i dnt know how to burn a microproccesor...plz help
Hi kapil,
There is nothing wrong with serial communication thread. Its just that bOtskOOl team has decided to disable posting of comments on it since it is a tutorial, so we can carry forward discussion in this thread.
Don't worry about email-id, I will keep replying to your posts.
So kapil what exactly are you trying to make? Is this your robotics project? If yes then I will suggest you to buy an AT89S52 programmer. In which city do you live? I will try to post address of some local electronics shops from where you can buy a programmer though you can order it online also.
kapil, you can build your own serial programmer or buy it from a local vendor.
Buy it online: link1 link2 costs around INR1000-1500
If you want to make one then follow these instructions: download this file (right click and save)
It contains:-
1)A simple serial programmer circuit-schematic.
2)master.hex file for your master 8051 programmer IC.
3)An easy software to detect your hardware on a defined com port and then you can program your hex file on a target 8051 serially.
Instructions:
1)Build a serial-programmer-hardware as per the circuit/schematic
2)Program the master microcontroller with master.hex using any other available parallel 8051 programmer. Place the master 8051 IC on the hardware permanently.
3)Connect your hardware (switched ON) using serial cable to your PC or Laptop. Go to your device manager and set the com port of your hardware, say com port 1.
4)Now run the software included in the zip file, specify your com port, place a target 8051 IC into another slot, as given in the circuit, to be programmed serially. The software will identify your hardware.
5)The serial programmer is ready to burn/program/load your desired hex file to target 8051 IC. Select your own hex file using the software and send it to target microcontroller. That's it! Enjoy
This should be the final 8051-serial-programmer-hardware

NOTE: If you are able to build your own serial-programmer-hardware don't forget to post a nice tutorial on bOtskOOl. You can win a prize..participate in Robotics Contest

but i have no parallel programmer........there are not such serial programmer which not wana programing.......
m frm ajmer...m try my best but not got any programmer......
Hi kapil,
Order a USB AT89S52 online. Check this link.
Kapil, with so many useful help around, you are sure to get started with robotics.
wow Shashwat, i have more bot points than you :P
Hi shobitkukreti,
Oh yes! you certainly do have.
I am slowly and slowly improving. So where you these days?
I am at Hyderabad right now. working on top secret stuff.. :P
how many 555 ic is used if we make 4 sensor line follower
Hi Kapil
there is no use of 555 ic's in line follower.
Hi kapil,
555 IC in line follower is used for generating PWM signal to run motors at a desired speed.
